The Tanzania Meat Board (TMB) is an institution under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development, established by section 9 of the Meat Industry Act No. 10 of 2006 and was inaugurated on 14th November 2008. The Tanzania Meat Board is a promotional and regulatory Body which is mandated to reorganize, promote and coordinate meat industry stakeholders and their activities as well as overseeing the conduct in relation to production of high quality meat and meat products.

Employment Opportunities
The Tanzania Meat Board is establishing its secretariat which will be responsible for Board's day to day activities. Therefore the Board invites suitable qualified Tanzanian to submit applications for the following positions:-

 Legal Officers II
Salary grade TMSS 7
Reporting to Head of Unit
Duty station Dar es Salaam

Requirements/qualifications
Holder of Bachelor degree in Law, or its equivalent from any recognized Institute;
Should have certificate of achievement from Law School;
Should have at least three (3) years' experience in the relevant field;
Should be computer literate.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To provide legal advice to TMB Registrar;
Prosecute and make follow up of cases in Courts of Law and courts decision, maintain data base on courts decisions and ensure safe Custody;
Interpretation of laws, terms of contract, terms of agreements, investment contracts and agreements, procurement contracts guarantees, letters of undertaking, memorandum of understanding, consultancy agreements and other type of agreements and other legal documents;
Monitor the execution of contracts and marketing arrangement between meat producer and processor or bodies related to meat sub sector and reconcile the parties when despite arise;
Provide legal advice in any conflict between and within different categories of meat industry stakeholders;
Create awareness and sensitization program on Meat Industry Act and its Regulations for effective implementation of the Act;
To register mortgages, deeds of transfers and other documents deemed necessary for registration;
To review legislations and draft prescribed legal documents and forms;

Salary grade TMSS 7
Reporting to Head of Unit
Duty station Dar es Salaam

Requirements/qualifications ,
Holder of Bachelor degree in Food Science and Nutrition, Meat/Food Technology or its equivalent from any recognized Institute.
Should have at least three years' experience in the relevant field
Should be computer literate

Main Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Plan, develop, organize and monitor capacity building programs on meat technologies for butchers and processors;
(ii) Promote and coordinate the development of small, medium and large scale traders and meat processors for production of quality products;
(iii) Organize and/or coordinate regional and national meat shows ;
(iv) Work with Ministry of livestock and Fisheries Development and LGA inspectors to identify and trace livestock, meat and meat products quality and safety throughout the value chain;
(v) Regulate meat industry stakeholder to ensure compliance of law, rules and regulations as per Meat Industry Act;

Remuneration
Attractive remunerations will be provided to successful candidates based on Tanzania Meat Board's Salary Scales (TMSS).
