COLLECTION AND RECOVERY MANAGER - Tanzania Postal Bank

POSITION; COLLECTION AND RECOVERY MANAGER (1POSITION)
Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Collection and Recovery Manager (1 position) to join the  Risk Management and Compliance 
team. The work station is  Mwanza.

Reporting Line: Director of Risk Management & Compliance
Locations: Mwanza
Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations 
Division: Credit Risk/Collection and Recoveries
Salary: Commensurate to the Job Advertised
POSITION OBJECTIVE
1.To maintain high quality Loan Portfolio. 
2.To support collection activities in branches and mini branches in the Lake Zone (Mwanza, 
Bukoba, Musoma, Shinyanga and Kigoma regions).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
•Follow up on non-performing loans with branches through emails, visits and calls, all  received feedback should be compiled for further follow up to Employers, Auctioneers and individual customers.
•Ensure that Consumer/Micro/Pensioners/Business Loan/Group and Solar loans Defaulters through assistance of Branch Managers and other stakeholders maintains the good quality of the Customers
•Follow up and monitoring of loan repayment cheques to all branches under your jurisdiction by ensuring that all received cheques are posted and to track uncollected cheques from the assigned Branches.
•Follow up to all customers with repayment arrangement every month especially those who are doing self-deposit after termination or resignation.
•Follow up on all defaulting customers on charged off portfolio and deviations. e.g. deceased, termination, abscond through branches.

•Ensuring that all accounts which qualify for charged off, are charged off on time after close follow by both branches and credit risk team.
•Maintain contact with Head Office recovery/risk team to ensure of resched
uling of all non-performing accounts which we have started receiving payments from their employers.
•Identifying all first payment defaulters and sending the list to both branches and Head Office for further follow up.
•Timely solving the queries and complaints which have been escalated to you in a professional manner.
•Close follow up on all ex-staff with outstanding liability with the Bank.
•Ensuring targets are met on amount collected especially on charged off portfolio.
•Submit various reports on statusof borrowers as might be requested from time to time.
•Timely recoveries of all loans in arrears and ensure all accounts are maintained in 
current status.
•In cooperation with contracted external debt collectors to ensure timely auction of 
properties of defaulters and collection of money due to the bank. 
•Doing all work related activities that may be assigned to you by your line manager.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Education: 
Bachelor degree/Advance diploma in Banking, Economics, commerce, Business Administration, Any Social science discipline, Finance or Accounting from any recognized University or equivalent.

Experience:
•Experience in Loans Recovery/Collections in the Financial Industry.
