MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER

Description

Provide technical support in the design and implantation of M&E activities.

Details


(a) Basic Function

(i) Does Strategy and Grants management. S/he is vested with overall responsibility for planning and monitoring in the organisation including ensuring the quality of development partners regular reporting to partners

(ii) Assist in capacity building of staff on with regard to organization’s overall activities in monitoring and evaluating results.

(iii) Will be in charge of all projects data management and keep single databank as single source for use from all users


(b) Other duties and responsibilities

(i) Provide technical support in the design and implantation of M&E activities

(ii) Implement the organization M&E system by providing technical support and capacity building to partners in data collection, verification, aggregation and reporting

(iii) Oversee data management staff on data processing and report generation; support the flow of reports from the head quarter and regional offices.

(iv) Train and build capacity of regional staff in effective use of all paper – based and electronic based systems for monitoring of programmatic performance and quarterly reporting. Review and compile monthly and quarterly reports.

(v) Conduct data quality assessments and continued supportive supervision and provide feedback on data quality issues to programme areas. Build capacity to all staff in use of data for informed decision making and program planning.

(vi) Assists Directorates Staff in preparation of realistic annual operational plans.

(vii) Collects and compiles data and monitors the impact of organization’s activities.

(viii) Performs any other duties assigned to him/her by the Executive Director.



(c) Entry Requirements and Qualifications

(i) Holder of a degree in Social Sciences or Humanities with a strong base to project management and planning from a recognized university with at least 3 years experience in M&E. A postgraduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation will be an added advantage.

(ii) Other

Must be conversant with the Legal sector in Tanzania.

Must have experience in Program Planning and Monitoring

Must be computer literate.

Must have good communication proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.

(d) Organizational Relationship

(i) Report to: Executive Director

(ii) Supervises: Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant, Interns and Volunteers

(e) Remuneration

A package within TAWLA’s salary scale will apply as monthly gross amount with a Social Security employer’s contribution as per statutory requirements. A health insurance scheme is also available.
