The European External Action Service (EEAS)
is looking for experienced, multi-talented, service oriented and
highly-motivated staff to work in the Delegations of the European Union
as Heads of Administration.
The
EEAS is the European Union's Diplomatic Service. It ensures that all
the different activities that the EU performs abroad are consistent and
effective and helps the EU's Foreign Affairs Chief – the High
Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy – carry out the
Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy. Headquarters are in Brussels
and our work extends throughout the world.
Working
for the EEAS, together with the Head of Administration and management
team you will ensure the smooth running of an EU Delegation in
accordance with existing rules and regulations, including the proper
management of the administrative budget, human resources, logistics and
security.
We
are looking for people with experience in day-to-day administration or
resources in an NGO context or international organisation, in a
multicultural environment in non-EU countries. If you have a service
oriented, operational attitude, then this is your chance to continue building your international career with the EU.
To
apply for this profile, you will need a completed post-secondary
education in business administration, human resources management,
finance or accounting. You
should have at least 6 years' professional experience related to the
profile, or a completed secondary education and at least 9 years
relevant professional experience.
To
work for the EEAS as a Head of Administration you need to be a citizen
of an EU country with at least 2 EU languages, one of the official EU
languages plus a good written and spoken knowledge of English or French.
Satisfactory knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is an asset for this
profile.
If
recruited you must be willing to accept a first posting in a country
where living and security conditions can be difficult. The Delegations
are located in countries where French, English, Portuguese and Spanish
are most widely spoken.
The indicative basic monthly salary for this profile (grade AST4) is € 3 844.31 (AST4)

In addition to the basic salary, you may be entitled to various allowances (expatriation, household, dependent child and education).
