The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat has received financing from the African Development Fund toward the cost of the Support to the Control of Communicable Diseases (CD) Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consultancy for end of Project Evaluation and Development of an Exit Strategy.

The focus of the consultancy is to examine the extent to which project objectives were met and the extent to which participating Member States (MS) have laid out strategies towards the sustainability of the project initiated activities. The consultancy is expected to:

• clearly identify and document the differences that the CD Project has made at the MS level;
• assess the appropriateness of the project design and management structures and make recommendations;
• explore the different ways to sustain CD activities in the Member States; and
• prepare an Exit Strategy for the Project

SADC Secretariat now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).

Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s "Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants" May 2008 Edition, Revised July 2012, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
